Since it’s inception in 2008 David Pattillo has been recording and producing music for the live music show Live from the Artists Den on PBS. His credits include Robert Plant, Norah Jones, Ed Sheeran, Rufus Wainwright, and Sheryl Crow among many others. This month he is very excited to announce he has mixed The Alabama Shakes. Emmy nominated producer/musician David Pattillo aka Strange Majik teams up with fresh NYC talent on this new 10 song release. Jazz diva Melanie Charles aka D’Flower, soul powerhouse Kennedy, and MCs Phase One and Elijah Black from the NYC hip hop party/collective “The Lesson” are featured as well as up an coming vocalists Fiona Silver and Valerie Broussard. “Lights On” blends genres of vintage soul, 60’s guitar psychedelia, electronic, and organic hip hop. Guitar washes, bass breaks, fuzz riffs, soul queens, and worldly-wise MCs.

New site h1tchr brings people together connecting songs

Have you seen the buzz that h1tchr (pronounced hitcher) is creating online? People all over the world are adding sound alike songs, samples, and cover versions of songs and creating interactive maps of popular music. Its a free site and it only requires a FB login (they only get access to your user ID and profile pic). The inside scoop from us is that it was started by our founder David Pattillo and also offers a really awesome free Spotify app that brings in music credits to Spotify!

David Pattillo launches h1tchr Spotify app and discovery web app

Our founder David Pattillo has launched his new music startup h1tchr.  “I started h1tchr to bring enrichment and discovery to the online music world. Our Spotify app seamlessly delivers the album credits and Wikipedia info for the artist you are listening to. Its the first real time credit delivery in music streaming of it’s kind.” The website http://www.h1tchr.com lets you make h1tchmaps of music by connecting related songs and sharing those results with your friends. A bit of ancestry for songwriting!
